As you may know I am classified as a C5-C6 quadriplegic. Shortly after I was injured I knew that therapy would become a HUGE part of my life. I do "therapy" with my grandpa 2 to 3 times a week, I also try to get at least 20 miles a week on my Handcycle.
Below I posted a video of one of my weekly workouts. I really wish that I would have been more willing to video my workouts from day one because It truly is unbelievable how far that I have come. I learned these workouts throughout my years at different therapy facilities and also a very special Chiropractor (Dr. Charles Murray was classified as a chiropractor, but i considered him a guru of healing) that I used to see 3 times a week a few years back. Prior to working with my lower extremities I really did not have much movement. After 2 years of working consistently.... I now have some movement in my quads and hamstrings, which is huge! My balance used to be horrible, I could not sit on the edge of my mat table without supporting myself with my hands. As you can see from the below video, I am now playing catch with a 12lb ball. I also want to point out my "modified" sit-ups, I concentrate as much as I can on my abs while doing these. Over time I drop off band strength to give my core more of a workout. All these improvements did not come to me overnight, it literally took YEARS!! If your willing to put in the work anything is possible!
Sorry for the lengthy video, but I wanted to capture my complete work out.
If you have any questions about any of my workouts please do not hesitate to ask!
